Desert Hills Shooting Club, South Boulder City, Nevada

The rifle range has covered shooting stalls. It was 100 yards to the berm.

You can see the Gun Club marker from Hwy 93, heading west from Boulder City. Take the Hwy 95 exit south towards Searchlight/Needles.

There are several open air pistol ranges

The club house sells shooting supplies, rents firearms; full automatic as well. There is a bar for when you finish range shooting or taking the sporting clays loop with your shotgun.

I tried out a new Konus scope on my .50 cal CVA Wolf muzzleloader. I shot a variety of rounds; 6 Powerbelt 295 grain hollow points, 6 Powerbelt 223 grain Aerotip and two .50 caliber round balls all using 100 grains of IMR White Hots. The zombie girl target was a bit over 50 yards. My first three rounds hit 10 inches low and 3 inches to the left. I adjusted the scope 40 clicks up and 10 clicks to the right. I am not using a sandbag or or bipod to steady my aim, so I ended up with the doughnut around the center. But I am getting closer, next time I shoot for 100 yards with a rifle rest.

This is a great facility, great club. There is an emphasis on shot gun sporting clays, which is very popular with a yearly membership is $300. But they accept non member, daily shooters; $10 for Nevada residents and $20 a day for non-resident people like me. Again, safety is stressed with a mandatory video screening and review of the range rules. These are very good shooting sports people. And I really enjoyed the clubhouse. Check this place out when you travel south out of Las Vegas.
