The wind gusts got up to 40 mph today, the forecast was for around 20+. Meteorology is, of course, an imperfect science. The back tent wall was bowed in for hours, pushing the table and whatever to the center. The rain fly has a spar that lifts it away for drip control, I presume... but the wind forced the structure up like a jet engine cowl, so it gets noisy in there.
I had to drop the sun shade and tether it down. If the wind gets any fiercer I will remove the canopy.
I am actually having a great time, wind and all. The coming weeks weather forecast in Indio looks calm and pleasant. This commitment to being a full time camper does have challenges along with the rewards.
